Why Use a 4-Layer Diffusion Bonded Manifold?
A four-layer diffusion bonded manifold is used in complicated fluidic applications that require many fluid paths to cross one another without risking mixing of fluids or contamination, such as in a hemodialysis machine. Diffusion bonding four layers provides incredible design flexibility to condense fluid paths into tight space requirements. A four-layer bonded manifold can dramatically reduce the amount of tubing required to connect the many fluid port connections in a device.
Benefits of a Four-Layer Diffusion Bonded Manifold
Diffusion bonding a 4-layer manifold provides the fluidic hub with a permanent bond at the molecular level. We do not use any glue or solvents to diffusion bond, so the fluidic channels are uniform and free of contaminants, which is crucial for many IVD and medical-related applications. We have decades of experience bonding 4-layer diffusion bonded manifolds (and other multiple-layer manifold designs) and would welcome a discussion to help with your design or provide a quote.
