What is the purpose of part numbering?
For many of our customers, particularly those in Life Sciences, part / lot traceability is very important. A simple and cost-effective solution is utilizing our laser engravers to permanently mark each part with a part number, rev, and /or additional information. This permanent marking makes it possible to trace the finished part back to the PO, raw materials used, and even the date it was produced.
Is part numbering worth the cost?
Our laser engravers can engrave many parts in one short cycle, depeding upon the size of the finished part. These engravers are very quick – similar to an inkjet printer. The cost to mark every single part in your order is almost negligible in comparison to the benefit and overall cost of each part.
