Laser Engraving Plastic Components
Laser engraving is a highly versatile technique that utilizes a computerized laser to mark the surface of a given material. This technology operates much like a desktop printer – engraving text or designs for a variety of purposes. Part numbering, serialization, traceability, and installtion / service instructions are common uses of laser engraving.
All high-performance plastics all are receptive to laser engraving, which adds a great deal of versatility and gives OEMs the option to have their parts pre-labeled prior to shipment.
Piedmont CMG routinely utilizes this process to add labeling to manifolds per the OEM’s request. These labels commonly mark the function of each fluidic path that the manifold exhibits which, in turn, allows their manufacturing facility to have a more streamlined process for the assembler to follow.
